WNY LANDMARK HOSTS PREMIER PARTY TO BENEFIT SPECIAL KIDS

BUFFALO, N.Y., Witches, ghosts and goblins will be on hand Saturday night to kick off the first annual Halloween Party fund raiser for Women and Children’s Hospital.

“We’re hoping this inaugural party will turn into an annual, traditional event and create a new way to benefit the children of our community who need special help,” said Atty. Paul Cambia who organized the event

“What better setting for a Halloween party than this beautiful old terminal. The grand prize for the best costume is $2,000 and the party runs from 6 p.m., to midnight,” Cambria said.

“This fund raiser is just one more historical milestone for the terminal that has interacted in so many Western New Yorkers’ lives over the decades,” said Russ Pawlak, president of the Central Terminal Restoration Corp. Inc.

“The terminal will be all decked out in spooky decorations and lights for the party to be emceed by radio personalities Shredd & Ragan,” Cambria said.

Live music will be by About Face and a full bar will be available. Plus food from LaNova and Andersons. Secure parking is on the terminal property.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com.

I just got off the phone with Yuri Hreschyshyn, local landscaper extraordinaire, CTRC and Broadway Market board member. He picked up 1,000 new daffodil bulbs on Saturday and is picking up 4,000 more today

These new bulbs will be planted immediately on the Paderewski approach to the Central Terminal and down Memorial Drive.

A special thanks to Coco Wozniak and Jim Pavel from City Hall for this generous donation.

Springtime in Broadway Fillmore will be alive with color! I can't wait to see it.

Thank You!

September was our most successful event month ever! An estimated 3,000 people showed up for the model train show on the 10th, 3,500 more for Buffalo Brewfest on the 16th and another 1,500 for Oktoberfest on the 23rd. We were all a little worried about having too many events in succession like that, but it all turned out fantastically! Honestly, we were sometimes overwhelmed by the crowds and the demands for food and beer, but the whole team chipped in a did whatever was necessary to keep things running.

Thanks to all the people who came out and supported us. We will have some exciting news about upcoming projects that will put our new revenue to good use.

I'd also like to publicly thank all the people below, whose tireless efforts this season went a long way to earning respect as an event venue:

Plus... the efforts of many new volunteers we've gained this season. All of the above mentioned people have played many and varied roles this season and in the past, to not only bring you all of our diverse events, but to prepare and maintain the terminal and grounds for these events. They have all put in hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of loving care into the terminal. They are absolutely the finest, hardest working people in Western New York!
