Thank You!

September was our most successful event month ever! An estimated 3,000 people showed up for the model train show on the 10th, 3,500 more for Buffalo Brewfest on the 16th and another 1,500 for Oktoberfest on the 23rd. We were all a little worried about having too many events in succession like that, but it all turned out fantastically! Honestly, we were sometimes overwhelmed by the crowds and the demands for food and beer, but the whole team chipped in a did whatever was necessary to keep things running.

Thanks to all the people who came out and supported us. We will have some exciting news about upcoming projects that will put our new revenue to good use.

I'd also like to publicly thank all the people below, whose tireless efforts this season went a long way to earning respect as an event venue:

Plus... the efforts of many new volunteers we've gained this season. All of the above mentioned people have played many and varied roles this season and in the past, to not only bring you all of our diverse events, but to prepare and maintain the terminal and grounds for these events. They have all put in hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of loving care into the terminal. They are absolutely the finest, hardest working people in Western New York!

Comments:
Mike Miller intentionally left himself off the list because he wrote it, but he deserves just as much credit as everyone else. Mike is one of the most dedicated members of the CTRC!

Hey Mr. Miller, what projects will the CTRC be doing next season. Hope they are very cool. Also when are going down to the Street Car Lobby and Curtis Street to clean? It is really bad down there.

We will be doing our strategic planning in January. That's when we decide the projects we'll be undertaking.

The Curtiss St. underpass is VERY dangerous. The cement ceiling is falling down. We've discussed purchasing a rollover protection cage for the tractor so we can start ripping the ceiling down, but quite honestly, there are many more pressing things that need to be done than that.

What are those other things that are things that have to be done first? Also, is there away to get some of the beautiful light fixtures back to the Terminal. I would really love to know.

Thank you for reading.

Just maintaining the status quo (replacing plywood/plexiglas windows that blow out, fixing leaks, making sure the sump pumps are working etc.)is time consuming enough for 15 building committee members, but we try to continue debris removal as well. Our next major project is roof drainpipe repair and the reopening of the restaurant.

The lights are very expensive to repurchase. $4,000 apiece for the small entrance lamps and $14,000 (at last count) for the 7 footers. That's if we can even find them and be able to afford them!

I admire your curiosity and I'll be happy to answer all questions, but keep in mind that we're all volunteers and the corporation is not rich by any stretch of the imagination. We work hard for our money by staging our fundraising events and we are very careful to put each dollar to its best use in the building.

Thank you very much Mr. Miller. I'm really happy that the Terminal is being taken care of instead being destroyed like the previous owners.

You're welcome. We all love the building. If you're ever inclined to help out, you are also more than welcome! You'll find that we're a good group of people that have fun while working hard.

I may be only 14 years old but I love to volunteer my free time to help out. You see, my grandfather worked here in the 50's and he always wanted me to volunteer my time to work at the BCT.

Plus thank you very much for those friendly comments.

Thanks again:)
